Google Hangouts Will Be Integrated With SMS/MMS

Recently, one of instant messaging services that are gaining popularity is Google Hangouts. Thanks to the growing popularity of Android, Hangouts is now widely used.
Now, according to sources received by android police, Hangouts reportedly will get new features.
The upcoming Google Hangouts version 1.3, will be integrated with SMS/MMS.

But, they have no information at this point about the possible release timeline and correlation between KitKat and this Hangouts update. It's possible that Google will roll it out before KitKat but it's equally as possible for it to come out later if it's not fully baked just yet.

Some of you may like this feature, because when you are using Hangouts and then suddenly  receiving SMS/MMS, you don't need to move from Hangouts to SMS/MMS. However, for some of us, this feature may be disturbing. SMS/MMS that are united in hangouts can cause chaos. Moreover, SMS/MMS is a paid feature, Hangouts is free. If we not careful, we might confuse send SMS/MMS instead of Hangouts. So, not everyone of us will want to get our SMS/MMS mixed into Hangouts. The ability to turn off SMS/MMS in Hangouts would be a nice inclusion. Well, according to the picture, that fiture is already exist. ^_^

Then, what do you think?

Android set to become the best choice operating system in the enterprise

That’s the prediction of president and CEO of analyst firm Canalys, Steve Brazier.
“It’s mainly consumer today but with such dramatic numbers shipping, it’s just a matter of time before this becomes the standard in the enterprise too,” he told attendees at the Canalys Channels Forum today in Barcelona.

“This year, 57 percent of devices will ship on Google Android [with] Windows falling to 23 percent, Apple to 17 percent. This is a dramatic transformation in the industry…we expect Google to continue gaining market share rapidly.”Brazier adds that “Apple is under pressure again, like it was 20 years ago when the PC came in with prices underneath the Mac. Now the same is happening with Android…Apple needs to react and there’s no sign they recognise the challenge that they face.
“Be very prepared. It will become an enterprise operating system.”
Brazier also predicts that in Q4 of this year there will be more tablets shipped than notebooks for the first time – although this may lead to what he describes as “a huge inventory build-up” leading to “a lot of fire sales post-Christmas, which could be a worry.”
Elsewhere, the analyst said the PC industry should see significant consolidation within the next 12 months. “There are too many tier one PC vendors in the Wintel world to survive,” he states. “We expect mergers and acquisitions to happen.”

Android is Slipping, Apple is Growing

The Android operating system from Google Inc. claims about 70% of the market in the five large European economies: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. But sales growth has slowed and Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. are gaining ground more quickly.
According to the latest data from Kantar WorldPanel ComTech, Android is slipping:

After years of increasing market share, Android has now reached a point where significant growth in developed markets is becoming harder to find. Android’s growth has been spearheaded by Samsung, but the manufacturer is now seeing its share of sales across the major European economies dip year on year as a sustained comeback from Sony, Nokia and LG begins to broaden the competitive landscape.

A similar survey in June showed that Apple’s iOS was growing market share faster than Android by a rate of 2.3% to 1.8%.
Perhaps the biggest news is that Windows Phone has hit double-digits in European market share in both France and the United Kingdom, posting 10.8% and 12.0% share, respectively. Kantar notes this is the first time the Microsoft mobile operating system has posted double-digit market share in two major markets.
Kantar also notes that the growth in Windows Phone share is “driven by Nokia’s expansion into the low and mid range market.” Nokia Corp. has agreed to sell its mobile business to Microsoft for $7.1 billion.
In the United States, Apple’s market share of 39.3% is expected to “spike” as the new iPhones hit the market. Kantar also believes that the addition of the iPhones to the lineup at Japan’s largest wireless carrier “makes it likely that Apple will pull ahead of Android” in Japan.

The loser is BlackBerry Ltd. which gets just 2.4% of European sales and 1.8% of U.S. sales.
The following chart from Kantar shows market share in Europe’s five largest markets for the three-month period ending in August.

Android 4.4 Leak Reveals LG Nexus 5 Specs

Earlier this month, Google announced that Android 4.4, or KitKat, would be launching before the end of the year. We also understand that the latest version of Android will be accompanied by a new Nexus phone made by LG – the Nexus 5. Beyond that, we don’t know much else, but a recent leak may have just given us a bit more information on the latter.

As MyCE reported, the screenshot reveals a black notification bar with grey icons. It is similar to earlier leaked screenshots of Kit Kat, which is the official name of Android 4.4, and a Google Keyboard.
Interestingly, the log file showed off an Android Key Lime Pie build number of KRS74H, and Phandroid said it was cooked on 13 September. Other than that, there's not much information on Android 4.4. There are some potential Nexus 5 specs found in the log file lines, though.
Nexus 5 could sport a 5-inch full HD display at 442 ppi, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snadragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 1.2 MP front camera, 2300mAh battery, support for LTE and NFC and a bunch of sensors like accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity, light, barometer and orientation. The device's model number is also LG-D820.
As Droid Life points out, the 8MP camera in the Nexus 5 is inferior to the 13MP rear camera that’s in the LG G2. It’s thought that Google made that particular decision to help keep costs low. Some may feel cheated that Google is sticking with an 8MP camera on the Nexus 5, but it’s a better option than replacing the Snapdragon 800 CPU with an inferior CPU.
The official KitKat Facebook page said that Android 4.4 would be out sometime in October. Android 4.2 and the Nexux 4 were both announced at the tail end of October last year so it only makes sense that both Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5 will be unveiled later next month as well.

Android takes tablet lead from iPad

Recently, Apple  has been the undisputed leader in tablet sales. The iPad and iPad mini hit the ground running and immediately pulled away from both Google  and Microsoft, which weren't even close to competing.
No longer, according to market analyst firm ABI Research. Android took the lead as already happened in smartphones. That puts increased pressure on Apple to deliver not just a series of incremental improvements on its current hits, but to wow the markets with some new breakthrough product.
There were three events that ABI identified as key to the shift in tablet platform market dominance:
